Scripture is the beloved story of God’s rescue mission for the hearts of every man woman and child. We believe that the story of God is as active today as it was when it was written. Through God’s word, we begin to behold the author and perfector of our faith and His constant pursuit to rescue us. We believe scripture is the inspired word of God and is foundational in the believers life to guide them daily in Truth. We believe the Word will do what it promises and that through scripture we have a personal encounter with God. (Romans 15:4; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Isaiah 55:11)
Prayer is essential to the life of the believer - it is our very lifeline as sons and daughters. We believe that God speaks, He is still speaking, and He longs to hear from you. Learning how to pray and to have an active prayer life allows the believer to enter the presence of the Lord to receive His love, His affirmation and His guidance. We believe in following Jesus’ model of prioritizing His union with His Father. (Matthew 14:23; Luke 5:16; Mark 1:35)
We demonstrate our Hope of Jesus by serving one another, sharing with each other in wholehearted genuine relationships, and caring for our brothers and sisters in need. This is the fruit of the love of Christ demonstrated through the life of the believer. (1 Thessalonians 2:7-8; John 13:34-35)
Worship is the outward expression of the inward joy that overflows from the heart of the believer, both personally and corporately. Worship is not limited to music but is expressed through utilizing your gifts to glorify God. (Psalm 150:6; Romans 12:1; Isaiah 25:1)
Whatever season you are in, your story is valued and transformation will occur as you experience Jesus personally. We believe that transformation continues in a community that supports you as you live out your new identity in Christ. (2 Corinthians 3:18; 5:17; Galatians 2:20; Romans 12:2; Ezekiel 36:26; Ephesians 2:10)
We believe Reconciliation is the gift of becoming all that God designed us to be through faith, and is celebrated as an outward expression taught throughout scripture. We see this expression take many different forms in scripture, such as Holy Communion, Baptism, confession and repentance.
(1 Peter 1:3; Jeremiah 17:14; Romans 15:13)
In Holy Communion our command is to remember who the true hero of the story is. We take communion to acknowledge the sacrifice, to acknowledge the gift, and to say Thank you. Jesus commanded His disciples to partake of the bread and the wine as a way to remember. The early believers, who saw that every time they gathered around a table to eat and drink, it was an important opportunity to recognize Jesus and thank God for all He’s done. (Luke 22:19-20; Matthew 26:26-28; John 6:53; 1 Corinthians 11:24-27; Acts 2:42-46)
